Corrupted Guardian

★★☆☆☆ Chapter 2 First Nushi

Location: First Blighted Forest — Forest Heart

Type: Massive quadruped Malefact. Think Shadow of the Colossus scale creature with bark-like armor and glowing Blight veins.

Key Stats

HPWeaknessResistanceBreakable Parts
ModerateBloom Arts, Down GaugePhysical (front armor)Tail, Leg Armor, Head Crest

Attack Patterns

  • Tail Sweep: 180-degree sweep. Easy to dodge with a backward roll. Parry-able but tight timing.
  • Charging Stomp: Rears up and slams. Creates a shockwave. Dodge sideways, not backward.
  • Blight Breath: Linear purple beam. Very telegraphed (the Guardian's mouth glows purple for 2 seconds). Run to the side.
  • Bark Shrapnel (Phase 2): At 50% HP, the Guardian shakes off bark armor in a 360-degree AOE. Must dodge — this attack is unblockable.

Strategy

1
Phase 1 (100%–50%): Focus on the tail. Breaking it reduces the Guardian's attack range. Parry the tail sweep to charge Koo's Bloom Gauge. Use Koo's binding ability to create damage windows.
2
Phase 2 (50%–0%): After the bark shrapnel AOE, the Guardian's front armor is gone. Attack the exposed head. Koo's fire-based ability (if unlocked) deals bonus damage.
3
Takedown: When the Down Gauge is full, grapple to the head using Blighted Hair for a cinematic finisher.

Rewards

  • Bloom Art: Verdant Slash — Emma's first special technique
  • Koo Ability: Howling Bind — Enhanced enemy binding
  • Guardian's Core — Crafting material for armor upgrade

Mech Sentinel

★★★☆☆ Chapter 3 Underground

Location: Underground Facility — Control Room

Type: Hulking armored automaton. Features a unique dismemberment system — you can target and destroy specific limbs.

Key Stats

HPWeaknessResistanceBreakable Parts
HighDismemberment, Electric (Koo)Bloom Arts (armored)Left Arm, Right Arm, Back Core

Attack Patterns

  • Laser Sweep (Right Arm): Horizontal laser beam. Destroy the right arm to disable this attack entirely.
  • Rocket Salvo (Left Arm): Homing missiles. Koo can intercept with his barrier ability.
  • Ground Slam: Close-range AOE. Perfect dodge through it.
  • Core Overload (Phase 2): At 40% HP, the back core is exposed. All abilities deal bonus damage, but the Sentinel's attack speed doubles.

Strategy

1
Priority: Right Arm. Disabling the laser makes Phase 1 much easier. Attack from the Sentinel's right side — it has a blind spot there.
2
Then: Left Arm. Without its arms, Phase 2 becomes manageable. Koo's electric abilities deal bonus damage to mechanical enemies.
3
Phase 2: Target the exposed back core. The Sentinel will try to keep its back away — use Koo to stun it, then circle around.

Rewards

  • Bloom Art: Thunder Strike — Electric damage, great vs mechanical enemies
  • Koo Ability: Static Field — AoE electric DOT
  • Sentinel Core — Key item for weapon upgrade

Blighted Serpent

★★★☆☆ Chapter 5 Poison

Location: Second Blighted Forest — Serpent's Nest

Type: Giant snake Malefact. This fight incorporates climbing mechanics. You can grapple onto the Serpent's body and climb it to reach weak points.

Key Stats

HPWeaknessResistanceBreakable Parts
Very HighClimbing + weak pointsFront attacksBody Segments (x3), Head Crest

Attack Patterns

  • Poison Spit: Creates poison pools on the ground. Persistent damage. Move constantly.
  • Body Slam: The Serpent crashes down. Massive AOE — use Blighted Hair to grapple away.
  • Constrict: At close range, the Serpent coils around you. Mash dodge to escape.
  • Frenzy (Phase 3): At 30% HP. All attacks become faster and chain together. This is when most players die.

Strategy

1
Activate the Shrines: Before the fight, activate all three Forest Shrines. This reduces the Serpent's HP by 15% and removes its poison aura.
2
Phase 1: Fight on the ground. Dodge poison pools. When the Serpent lowers its head after an attack, grapple onto it.
3
Phase 2 (Climbing): Climb to the three body segments. Destroy each one. Koo can distract the Serpent while you climb.
4
Phase 3 (Frenzy): Stay at mid-range. Parry the head lunges. Use the strongest Bloom Arts you have. Don't get greedy — one hit at a time.

Rewards

  • Bloom Art: Venom Fang — Applies poison DOT
  • Koo Ability: Toxic Howl — AoE poison + slow
  • Serpent Scale — Armor crafting material

Kunai — The Rival

★★★★☆ Chapter 4 / 7 Duel

Location: Wasteland Arena (Chapter 4: story; Chapter 7: optional rematch)

Type: Humanoid rival. Fights like Emma — katana combos, parries, and her own version of Bloom Arts. This is a pure skill check.

Key Stats

HPWeaknessResistanceSpecial
ModerateAggression after parriesLong-range attacksUses parries against YOU

Attack Patterns

  • 3-Hit Combo: Slash → slash → overhead. Parry the third hit for a guaranteed counter window.
  • Bloom Art — Shadow Strike: Kunai vanishes and reappears behind you. Dodge backward immediately when she disappears.
  • Malefact Assist: Her companion fires a projectile. Dodge or use Koo to intercept.
  • Parry Stance: Kunai will parry YOUR attacks and counter. Bait her parry with a light attack, then dodge the counter.

Strategy

1
Don't spam attacks. Kunai punishes button-mashing. Attack once or twice, then prepare to parry her counter.
2
Parry her parries. When Kunai enters her parry stance, throw a light attack to bait her counter, then immediately parry. This is the fastest way to build Bloom Gauge.
3
Use Koo defensively. Koo's barrier ability blocks Kunai's Malefact assist. Save Bloom Gauge for defensive options.
4
Bloom Art timing: Only use Bloom Arts after a successful parry counter. Using them raw will get you punished.

Rewards

  • First win: Story progression + Memory Fragment
  • Rematch win (Chapter 7): Kunai's Talisman for Koo — grants passive parry window extension

Beast of Reincarnation

★★★★★ Chapter 8 Final Boss

Location: Origin Forest — The Blight's Heart

Type: The source of all Blight. A colossal, reality-warping entity. The most challenging fight in the game with four distinct phases.

Key Stats

HPWeaknessResistancePhases
MassiveAbsorbed Nushi powersNone (but each phase has unique resistance)4

Phase 1 — The Shell

The Beast appears as a massive Blight cocoon. It spawns Malefact waves and fires seeking projectiles. Kill the Malefacts to expose the core. Use ranged weapons to damage the core from safety.

Phase 2 — The Awakening

The Beast emerges as a humanoid-Blight hybrid. Fast, aggressive melee combat — similar to the Kunai duel but with larger hitboxes. Parry everything. The Beast's attacks are telegraphed but hit hard.

Phase 3 — The Reincarnation

The Beast cycles through the forms of Nushi you've defeated. If you skipped optional Nushi, the Beast uses generic forms instead — defeating all Nushi makes this phase much easier.

Phase 4 — The Core

The Beast's true form: a small, fast entity. This phase is a pure reaction test. Mastered all your Nushi Bloom Arts? Each one deals bonus damage here. The fight ends with a cinematic sequence using all your accumulated powers.

⚠️ Critical Warning

You CANNOT heal during Phase 4 transitions. Make sure your HP is full before finishing each phase. Equip HP regeneration talismans.

Rewards

  • Ending: Dependent on your choices throughout the game
  • New Game+ unlock: Carry over skills, face harder enemies
  • Beast Core: Ultimate crafting material for post-game weapons
